Veterans Speak Out at Brentwood City Council Meeting – January 28, 2025

BVMB Board

Updated: Feb 4

During the open comment period of the Brentwood City Council meeting on January 28, 2025, local veterans urged the council to block any permits related to the construction of Fire Station 94. They emphasized the misuse of veteran-designated land and the need for the city to stand with its veteran community.

Mike Clement, representing the American Legion, presented before-and-after screenshots showing that the County has deeded the entire property—including the Veterans Hall—to the Fire District without notifying veterans or the community.

Speakers included:

  • Mike Clement - representing the American Legion

  • Mike Meyokovich – Veterans Advocate

  • Travis Martin – VFW Commander

  • Donald Hester – BVMB Board Member & Marine Corps League Commandant

  • David Boatright – DAV Representative

In addition, Vice Mayor Pa'tanisha Pierson presented the African American History Month proclamation to David, Commander of the DAV, recognizing the contributions of African American veterans and service members.

This meeting highlighted growing concerns over the County’s actions and the veterans’ fight to reclaim their land. Stay informed and engaged as this issue unfolds.
