❌ Myth: Veterans are fighting against firefighters over the new fire station.
✅ **Fact: This is about land use, special tax restrictions, and correcting a long-overdue oversight—not a battle between veterans and first responders.
As veterans, we deeply respect and support all first responders. Firefighters protect the home front, just as we protect the nation. In fact, many veterans become firefighters, and historically, many of Brentwood’s original volunteer firefighters were veterans themselves.
Some people may try to frame this issue as "veterans vs. firefighters" to distract from the real problem. Don’t be fooled. This is a tactic to divert public attention while the County continues to steamroll veterans and ignore the legal restrictions on this land.
The real issue is simple and factual:
This land was purchased using a special tax exclusively for veterans' memorials and meeting places—not for a fire station.
The County does not have the legal right to take taxpayer-funded land and repurpose it for something else.
This is not about opposing a fire station—we support a new station in the right location. It is about holding the County accountable and ensuring that veterans’ land is used as intended.
💡 Bottom Line: This is not a battle between veterans and firefighters. This is about ensuring the County follows the law, respects taxpayer-funded land, and corrects a long-overdue oversight.
Yes to the Station, NO to the Location
